Join us every Thursday at 7 p.m. with prayer and reading of God's word at our joint prayer meetings.
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Last Sunday, we presented the "Kairos project" at our annual assembly and joint worship service. We named the project after the Greek. words that denote "the right moment that calls for bold action", the moment in which we recognize that our church community is currently in, given the challenges of our current location and space.
Due to the growth that we have experienced due to the arrival of new people in our community, the growth of international worship service and also due to the natural increase that we have experienced in the last few years with the birth of over 30 children in our community, our current space is evidently becoming too small for our needs, but is also a limiting factor for our further growth as a community. With the problems of lack of parking and accessibility as well as the recent plan of the complete renovation of our building that will force us to move out of our space for a long period, we recognize that this is "the right moment that calls for bold action".
While the leadership of our community tirelessly searches for alternative locations and options for the relocation of our community, talks and negotiates with state and city authorities, we invite everyone who is part of our community to get involved in the Kairos project in two ways; through prayer and fundraising. For this purpose, we have started prayer meetings for the entire community, which will be held every Thursday at 19:00 in the church premises until further notice, and we firmly encourage everyone to come and participate in joint prayers. We are aware that without God's intervention our chances are not great and therefore we encourage the whole community to this spiritual battle. For the purpose of collecting financial resources, a special "Kairos account" was opened, and on Sunday we collected almost EUR 2000 at the church service, which we will deposit as the first funds into the account for a new home for future generations, our church, and our future. We believe that in this area too, with God's help and our generosity, we can push the limits of our faith and possibilities. As a church, we embark on this journey together in the strong faith that the Lord, who has guided and protected our community through 150 years of its rich history, will guide our steps in these new and uncertain, but exciting times.
God can, by his power working in us, do immeasurably more than we ask or think. May he be glorified in the Church and in Jesus Christ forever! Amen.
