Along with pastors Ivica Horvat, Željko Mraz, Mihal Kreko, Teofil Mršić and Filip Grujić, part of the coordination team includes brother Kostya Bakanov, a Ukrainian missionary in Croatia who is in constant contact with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters and the leaders and pastors of Ukrainian churches. At the meeting two key directions were agreed upon for the humanitarian activities of the SBC in the Republic of Croatia.
- Reception of refugees from Ukraine in our churches and homes
- Raising funds through the SBC account in the Republic of Croatia, which will be used in two ways
(sending financial aid through the European Baptist Alliance for the needs of Ukrainian citizens, and the costs of assistance and subsistence of Ukrainian refugees in the Republic of Croatia)
HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
At this time, we appeal to all our church communities and our faithful people to actively participate first in the prayer that God will stop the war in Ukraine and end the loss of human lives and the unnecessary and tragic suffering of all who are affected by this war.
We invite you to get involved either as church communities or as individuals in raising funds to help the citizens of Ukraine, which will be forwarded and used where they are most needed. You can give your donation either through your local Baptist churches or directly to the account of the Association of Baptist Churches in the Republic of Croatia at:
IBAN: HR8823600001101525063
Payment description: Aid for Ukraine
If you are interested in getting involved, contact our sister Vesna Bušljeta, who serves as part of this project 091 7963 774
We invite you to open your homes for the reception of refugee families and individuals who will seek refuge in our country. The first refugee families are already accommodated in the House of Hope in Gajnice, while the others are currently on their way to Croatia and we are in the process of finding accommodation. (You can report your availability for accommodation to your local pastors)
At the moment, coordination is underway to collect aid in the form of food and hygiene supplies, which will leave for Ukraine at the end of the week. If you are in Zagreb and want to donate, you can leave the following things at Radićeva 30 on Tuesday 15.3 between 16:00 and 18:00.

The President of the Baptist Alliance of Ukraine Valery Antonyuk ended his speech on the day of the attack on Ukraine with these words: We are starting a new phase, a new page in our service that has never existed before. God has blessed us to be able to live tranquilly and peacefully for decades, but in these times our whole country needs the church as salt and light. The Lord is our shepherd, we shall not want, and He will lead us in such times.
May God bless us, we're praying for you and LET'S SERVE THE LORD TOGETHER!
